I compiled the following list based on the assertion that Muslim’s
claim that Jesus and Muhammad had the same message and that all the
prophets shared the same message: Follow one God.
We will see if Jesus and Muhammad shared the same message.
If both Jesus and Muhammad had the same message by telling us to
worship one God then the prophets of that message should follow the
commands of God. This is the criteria.
The Commands of God came in the form of the Ten Commandments.
The bible tells us to follow the Ten Commandments first in Exodus 20.
The Quran mentions tablets of instruction that should be followed with
firmness in Surah 7:145.
Let’s see, Jesus or Muhammad, who fulfills the above obligation and
obedience.
COVETING POSSESSIONS The Bible [Exodus 20:17] Thou shalt not covet another’s wealth. The Quran [Surah 4:32] Do not covet the bounties that God has
bestowed more abundantly on some of you than on others.
Jesus
[Luke 12:15]
And he said unto them: Take Heed, and beware of covetness;
for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he
possesseth.
Muhammad
[Surah 8:41] And know that anything
you obtain of war booty - then indeed, for Allah is one fifth of it and
for the Messenger and for [his] near relatives and the orphans,
the needy, and the [stranded] traveler, if you have believed in Allah
and in that which We sent down to Our Servant on the day of criterion -
the day when the two armies met. And Allah , over all things, is
competent.
KILLING The Bible [Exodus 20:13] Thou shalt not kill. The Quran [Surah 17:33] And do not take any human being's life
- that God willed to be sacred - other than in [the pursuit of]
justice."
Jesus
[Matthew 5:21] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time ‘Thou
shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of hellfire.
Muhammad
[Surah 2:190-191] Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do
not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors.
And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever
they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not
fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if
they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the
disbelievers.
[Surah 2:193] Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until]
worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah . But if they cease, then
there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.
[Surah 9:5] And when the sacred months have passed, then kill the
polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them
and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they should
repent, establish prayer, and give zakah, let them [go] on their way.
Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
[Surah 47:4] So when you meet those
who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have
inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and
either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays
down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He
could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed
struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are
killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds.
LYING The Bible
[Exodus 20:16] Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. The Quran [Surah 25:72] And (know that the true servants of
God are) those who do not bear witness to falsehood.
Muhammad
[Surah 3:54] And the [The unbelievers] schemed, but Allah schemed. And
Allah is the best of schemers.
[Surah 16:106] Whoever disbelieves in
Allah after his belief... except for one who is forced [to renounce his
religion] while his heart is secure in faith. But those who
[willingly] open their breasts to disbelief, upon them is wrath from
Allah , and for them is a great punishment.
ADULTERY The Bible
[Exodus 20:14]
Thou shalt not commit
adultery.
The Quran
[Surah 17:32] You shall not commit adultery. Surely it is a shameful
deed and an evil way.
Muhammad
[Surah 33:50-51] O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives
to whom you have given their due compensation and those your right hand
possesses from what Allah has
returned to you [of captives] and the daughters of your paternal uncles
and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your
maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts who emigrated
with you and a believing woman if she gives herself to the Prophet
[and] if the Prophet wishes to marry her, [this is] only for you,
excluding the [other] believers. We certainly know what We have made
obligatory upon them concerning their wives and those their right hands
possess, [but this is for you] in order that there will be upon you no
discomfort. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
You, [O Muhammad], may put aside whom you will of them or take to
yourself whom you will. And any that
you desire of those [wives] from whom you had [temporarily] separated -
there is no blame upon you [in returning her]. That is more
suitable that they should be content and not grieve and that they
should be satisfied with what you have given them - all of them. And
Allah knows what is in your hearts. And ever is Allah Knowing and
Forbearing.
[Surah 66:1-5] O Prophet, why do you prohibit [yourself from] what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking the
approval of your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Allah has already ordained for you [Muslims] the dissolution of your
oaths. And Allah is your protector, and He is the Knowing, the Wise.
And [remember] when the Prophet
confided to one of his wives a statement; and when she informed
[another] of it and Allah showed it to him, he made known part of it
and ignored a part. And when he informed her about it, she said, "Who
told you this?" He said, "I was informed by the Knowing, the
Acquainted."
If you two [wives] repent to Allah , [it is best], for your hearts have
deviated. But if you cooperate against him - then indeed Allah is his
protector, and Gabriel and the righteous of the believers and the
angels, moreover, are [his] assistants.
Perhaps his Lord, if he divorced you [all], would substitute for him wives better than
you - submitting [to Allah], believing, devoutly obedient,
repentant, worshipping, and traveling - [ones] previously married and
virgins.
[Surah 4:24] And [also prohibited to you are all] married women
except those your right hands possess. [This is] the decree of Allah
upon you. And lawful to you are [all others] beyond these, [provided]
that you seek them [in marriage] with [gifts from] your property,
desiring chastity, not unlawful sexual intercourse. So for whatever you
enjoy [of marriage] from them, give them their due compensation as an
obligation. And there is no blame upon you for what you mutually agree
to beyond the obligation. Indeed, Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.
[Surah 65:4] And those who no longer expect menstruation among your
women - if you doubt, then their period is three months, and [also for]
those who have not Menstruated (This line condones pedophilia) And for those who are
pregnant, their term is until they give birth. And whoever fears Allah
- He will make for him of his matter ease.
WORSHIPING OTHER GODS The Bible
[Exodus 20:3] Thou shalt not have any other gods against my face. The Quran
[Surah 17:22] Do not associate another deity with God.
Jesus
[Mark 12:29] Hear, O, Israel, Our God is one Lord.
Muhammad
[Surah 17:73-75] And indeed, they were about to tempt you away from that which We revealed
to you in order to [make] you invent about Us something else;
and then they would have taken you as a friend.
And if We had not strengthened you, you
would have almost inclined to them a little.
Then [if you had], We would have made you taste double [punishment in]
life and double [after] death. Then you would not find for yourself
against Us a helper.
[Surah 2:62] Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews
or Christians or Sabeans [before Prophet Muhammad] - those [among them]
who believed in Allah and the Last Day and did righteousness - will
have their reward with their Lord, and no fear will there be concerning
them, nor will they grieve.
GRAVEN IMAGES The Bible
[Exodus 20:5]
Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD
thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon
the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate
me; The Quran
[Surah 14:35] My Lord, make this a peaceful land, and protect me and my
children from worshiping idols.
Jesus
[2 Peter 2:1] But there were false prophets also among the people, even
as there shall be false teachers among you, who shall secretly bring in
destructive heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring
upon themselves swift destruction.
Muhammad
[Surah 33:21] There has certainly been for you in the Messenger
of Allah an excellent pattern
for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers
Allah often.
[Surah 2:125] And [mention] when We made the House a place of return
for the people and [a place of] security. And take, [O believers], from
the standing place of Abraham a place of prayer. And We charged Abraham
and Ishmael, [saying], "Purify My
House for those who perform Tawaf and those who are staying [there] for
worship and those who bow and prostrate [in prayer]."
STEALING The Bible
[Exodus 20:15] Thou shalt not steal. The Quran
[Surah 5:38-39] The thief, male or female, you shall mark their hands
as a punishment for their crime, and to serve as an example from GOD.
GOD is Almighty, Most Wise.
Muhammad
[Surah 33:26-27] And He brought down those who supported them among the
People of the Scripture from their fortresses and cast terror into
their hearts [so that] a party you
killed, and you took captive a party. And He caused you to
inherit their land and their homes and their properties and a land
which you have not trodden. And ever is Allah , over all things,
competent.
[Surah 48:18-20] Certainly was Allah pleased with the believers when
they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muhammad], under the tree, and He
knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquillity upon them
and rewarded them with an imminent
conquest. And much war booty which
they will take. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. Allah has promised you
much booty that you will take [in the future] and has hastened
for you this [victory] and withheld the hands of people from you - that
it may be a sign for the believers and [that] He may guide you to a
straight path.
AFTERLIFE Jesus
[Matthew 28:18] All power is given unto me in heaven and earth...
[John 6:58] This is that bread which came down from heaven, not as your
father’s did eat mana, and are dead: he that eats of this bread shall
live forever.
[John 11:25] I am the resurrection and the life, he that believes in
me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.
[John 14:6] I am the way, the truth and the life, no one shall come
unto the father but by me.
[Revelation 1:7] I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last.
[Revelation 1:11] I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.
[Revelation 1:17-18] I am the first and the last, 18. I am he
that lives, and was dead: and behold, I am alive forever more, Amen:
and have the keys to death and hades.
Muhammad
[Surah 46:9] Say, "I am not something original among the messengers, nor do I know what will be done with me or
with you. I only follow that which is revealed to me, and I am
not but a clear warner."
[Surah 22:49] Say, O people, I am
only to you a clear warner...
[Surah 17:57] Those unto whom they cry seek the way of approach to
their Lord, which of them shall be the nearest; they hope for his mercy
and they fear his doom. Lo! the doom of thy Lord is to be shunned.
[Surah 26:51] Verily! We really hope
that our Lord will forgive us our sins, as we are the first of
the believers [in Musa (Moses) and in the Monotheism which he has
brought from Allah.]
[Surah 2:284] To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that
is on the earth, and whether you disclose what is in your ownselves or
conceal it, Allah will call you to account for it. Then He forgives
whom He wills and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Able to do all
things.
[Surah 3:126-129] Allah made it not but as a message of good news for
you and as an assurance to your hearts. And there is no victory except
from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. That He might cut off a part
of those who disbelieve, or expose them to infamy, so that they retire
frustrated. Not for you (O Muhammad, but for Allah) is the decision;
whether He turns in mercy to (pardons) them or punishes them; verily,
they are the Zalimun (polytheists, disobedients, and wrong-doers,
etc.). And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is
in the earth. He forgives whom He
wills, and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving,
Most Merciful.
[Surah 4:48-49] Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set
up with him in worship, but He
forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and
whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented
a tremendous sin. (S. 4:48 – cf. 116; 5:18, 40; 48:14)
Have you not considered those who attribute purity to themselves? Nay, Allah purifies whom He pleases;
and they shall not be wronged the husk of a date stone.
[Surah 24:21] “... And had it not been for the Grace of Allah and His
Mercy on you, not one of you would ever have been pure from sins. But Allah purifies whom He wills,
and Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.”
[Surah 21:23] He cannot be questioned
as to what He does, while they will be questioned.
