Judging is biblical and judging Wickedness Is Biblical
Judge not lest ye be judged is a common defense for anyone losing a
Biblical debate (especially for catholics). But this scripture is not
to say, do not judge others, but just to ensure you have submitted
yourself to God's judgment, you have asked for judgment upon yourself.
Lets let the scriptures speak for themselves.
[I Corinthians 2:15] "But he that is spiritual judgeth all things..."
Jesus said in [John 7:24] "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
[Romans 16: 17-18]
"Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and
offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid
them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their
own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of
[II Timothy 4:14-15]
Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him
according to his works: Of whom be thou ware also; for he hath greatly
withstood our words.
[II Timothy 4:10] "For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world..."
Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as
ye have us for an ensample. (For many walk, of whom I have told you
often, and now tell you even weeping, [that they are] the enemies of
the cross of Christ: Whose end [is] destruction, whose God [is their]
belly, and [whose] glory [is] in their shame….
"Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be
able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially
they of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert
whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's
sake. One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The
Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. This witness is
true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the
faith; "Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that
turn from the truth."
[Titus 3:10] "A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;"
"And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart
thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the
grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not another; but there be
some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But
though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you
than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we
said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel
unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. For do I now
persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased
men, I should not be the servant of Christ."
[Jeremiah 48:10] "Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully..."
[I Corinthians 2:15] "But he that is spiritual judgeth all things..."
Jesus said in [John 7:24]
"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment."
---- Well Corinthians is basically a rebuke from Paul to the Cor.
church. These people (for the most part) were hypocrites and as Jesus
said hypocrites have no right to judge a speck in their brothers eye
when they have a beam in there own. Read the next chapter (5) to see
how Paul was demanding them to judge a perverse fornicator in their own
church though. The Bible forbids hypocritical judgment but demands
righteous judgment from both God and man.
For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I
will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting
covenant with them.
But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner
of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to
have done, and not to leave the other undone.
There is a whole lot of judging going on in the verses below:
Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate:
it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant
"...unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but
even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know
God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and
unto every good work reprobate.
[II Corinthians 11:13-15]
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves
into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is
transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if
his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness;
whose end shall be according to their works.
[II Peter 2:17-19]
"These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest;
to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak
great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the
flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them
who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are
the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same
is he brought in bondage."
"For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that
setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. As a cage is full of
birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are become
great, and waxen rich. They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they
overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause
of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they
not judge. Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall
not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? A wonderful and
horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely,
and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it
so: and what will ye do in the end thereof?"
[II Timothy 4:3-4]
"I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who
shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke,
exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when
they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall
they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall
turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."
[I Timothy 6:20-21]
"O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane
and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which
some professing have erred concerning the faith."
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit,
after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not
"There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a
roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have
taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows
in the midst thereof.
[Deuteronomy 13:1-3, 5]
If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth
thee a sign or a wonder, And the sign or the wonder come to pass,
whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which
thou hast not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto
the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your
God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all
your heart and with all your soul...And that prophet, or that dreamer
of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you
away from the LORD your God."
"But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which
I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of
other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine
heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When
a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not,
nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but
the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of
"Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there;
believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false
prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it
were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
"But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and
the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from
among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I
require at the watchman's hand."
"Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common
salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that
ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto
the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were
before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the
grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God,
and our Lord Jesus Christ."
[John 9:4] "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work."
[I Timothy 4:1-2]
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall
depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines
of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared
with a hot iron..."
[Matthew 12:37] "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."
[Ephesians 5:11] "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them."
[Matthew 24:24] "...if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect."
[II Corinthians 2:11] "Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices."
